Job Title: Web Designer and Developer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and creative Web Designer and Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing and developing websites using various Content Management Systems (CMS) and website creators. They should possess a strong understanding of programming languages required for web development and have a keen eye for design aesthetics. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and attention to detail to deliver high-quality websites that meet our clients' needs.
Responsibilities:
Designing and developing responsive websites from concept to completion.
Collaborating with clients or project managers to understand requirements and translate them into functional web solutions.
Utilizing various CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) and website builders (e.g., Wix, Squarespace) to create and manage website content.
Writing clean, well-documented code using programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
Customizing and extending CMS functionality through plugins, themes, and custom code.
Conducting website performance optimization, including page speed optimization and SEO best practices implementation.
Ensuring cross-browser and cross-device compatibility for all websites.
Testing and debugging websites to ensure functionality and resolve any issues.
Staying up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies related to web design and development.
Providing technical support and troubleshooting for existing websites as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a web designer and developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
Proficiency in designing and developing websites using CMS platforms (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.) and website builders (Wix, Squarespace, etc.).
Solid understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
Experience with back-end development using programming languages such as PHP and familiarity with MySQL or other databases.
Ability to customize and extend CMS functionality through the development of plugins, themes, and custom code.
Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques and SEO best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch.
Knowledge of server administration and hosting environments.
Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
Experience with e-commerce platforms and integration (e.g., WooCommerce, Shopify).
